This Sunday is what every running Portlander waits for: Shamrock! Or more specifically, the really cool bottle opener medal that comes with Shamrock.
I haven't been training. At all. I think I've run three times ? since September. Clearly going with the "I'm well rested" strategy.
In my secret heart of hearts, I'd love it if I could PR this race. Never going to happen in a trillion years, but hey -- everybody needs a dream, right?
In 2010, my first year to run the 15K, my time was 2:09:18. For 2011, 2:17:02. Last year I did much better at 2:11:42.
My C goal this year is just to finish the damn race. My B goal is to beat my worst time at this race of 2:17:02. My A goal? PR baybee!!!
This will be me after Shamrock.
Yes, dream it! Dream it like Ru!!
Speaking of kittens, I weighed them this weekend to see if they were the reason for the strained muscle in my shoulder. If they weren't, they should be: Josie came in at 13.2 lbs while Rudy topped the scales at 14 lbs. Don't let anybody tell you that steroids are bad for kittens. Seriously though, they're not even a year old yet. Hell, they're not even 11 months old yet. I haven't even been feeding them as much canned food as I used to (no particular reason other than I'm just lazy). Maybe it's water weight.
I'll be back next week to let you know whether I survived Shamrock!
Cheers,
the CilleyGirl
